a.k.a. Pussyman, The Great White Waldo, David Christoff

David Christopher may be better known as 'Pussyman' these days, but he'd been at it in the industry for some time before trotting out the series that bears his nickname. David's done it all in the porno business, starting off as a stud for hire and working his way up the lascivious ladder to become one of the top producers and directors in the field.

David was born Bernie Cohen, and made his initial forays into hardcore way back in 1974. He was pursuing a master's degree in history when he was approached by a friend for some out-of-the-ordinary work. It seems that his friend worked as a production assistant for Gerard Damiano, who was looking for fresh male talent. Bernie was paired up in a scene with Jody Maxwell, and although it only took him moments to climax, Damiano let him have another chance.

Eventually, Bernie became David Christopher and appeared in almost 100 features and loops over the next few years. By the early 80's, David had moved behind the camera and began directing hardcore epics. Christopher was one of the first porners to concentrate his efforts on low-budget interracially themed flicks. In features like 'Black Sister, White Brother' and 'Black Girls In Heat,' Christopher established himself as one of the finest purveyors of salt-and-pepper sexuality in the business.

Christopher didn't really become well-known to most hardcore fans until the 1993 release of his first 'Pussyman' flick. Seeing the success of John Stagliano's Buttman features, David decided that the industry needed a series that focused on the other end of the sexual spectrum. He dubbed himself Pussyman and began bringing his own obsessive brand of cinema verite to the hardcore screen.

The flicks were an instant sensation, and David won the 1993 XRCO Best Video Award for 'Pussyman 1.' He won honors the following year from AVN, taking home the Best Group Sex Scene prize for 'Pussyman 5's searing tussle between Leena, Lacy Rose, Alex Sanders, Tony Martino and Gerry Pike.

David branched out into a more pro-am style with his 'Pussyman Audition' series, while continuing to churn out the always popular 'Pussyman' line itself. A no-nonsense video maker who knows exactly where his bread is buttered, David Christopher's one of the most successful porners of his time. With over 100 on-screen romps and almost as many flicks under his belt as director, Christopher's a deserving member of the AVN Hall of Fame.
