They've moved in next door to Mary Beth (Quilan), a marine biologist who is more than a little preoccupied with studying Roxanne, a delightful dolphin, and keeping a watchful eye on her two uncontrollable daughters. But what Mary Beth and Terry are about to discover is that Zeus and Roxanne are developing an unexpected relationship. Their communication and bond of friendship and trust will change the lives of both sets of families as they learn that there's more to life than work, and nothing as important as love.

"Three Wishes:In a time of prosperity and whole, happy families, Jeanne Holman (Mastrantonio) and her two sons Tom & Gunny (Mazzello & Mumy) are different. Jeanne's husband is missing in the Korean War and without him they are doing the best they can. But one day while driving with her children, Jeanne runs into a drifter Jack McCloud (Swayze), an event that will change there lives forever.

"Jeanne invites the injured stranger and his dog Betty Jane into her home for a brief recuperation, but before long the whole family find themselves wanting him to stay. The Holman family soon discovers that there is a far more to Jack then meets the eye – and he brings more into their home than just his scruffy four-legged friend. For Jeanne and her children are about to discover the magic that comes with the kindness of helping a stranger, and what can be captured with just Three Wishes."
