Grand Illusion Description: "Perhaps the greatest antiwar film ever made, this humanist masterpiece by Jean Renoir, son of the Impressionist painter August, is both a startling entertainment and a harsh critique of aristocracy. The setting is a World War I POW camp, where three French prisoners (a nobleman, a bourgeois, and a Jew) plan an escape under the watchful eye of their blue-blooded warden (Erich von Stroheim.) When the escape plan is devised, the French nobleman (Pierre Fresnay) must decide if his loyalty rests with his class or with his compatriots (Jean Gabin and Marcel Dalio). First Sale Doctrine for the movie Grand Illusion: Money 4 Movies is an online retailer and legal owner of the physical copies of movies it sells, rents and exchanges such as the movie Grand Illusion. The promotion and advertisement of all movies, such as Grand Illusion DVD, advertised for sale or rental through the display of copies of box covers, including titles, actors names, producers, and the use of excerpts, synopses and previews of the movies is protected under the "first sale doctrine". 17 U.S.C. § 109 (a). The first sale doctrine protects the buyer's Money 4 Movies interest in goods it has purchased for resale and rental of such DVD movies and videos as Grand Illusion Movie. Under the doctrine, once the copyright/trademark owner has sold its goods, such as the video movie Grand Illusion, it has exhausted its copyright/trademark rights in those goods and can no longer dictate how or where the buyer uses or redistributes those goods. The "first sale doctrine" protects retailers, such as Money 4 Movies, in the promotion, advertisement, rental and sale of copyrighted works.
